How can that be? Impossible you might say. Yes, it may sound like a ridiculous claim, but if you know how, most things are possible —success included!
Here are some steps you can take to form the habit of succeeding in your projects within 2 weeks.
STEP 1: Draw up your action plan. Start a 14-day journal to record your activities and monitor your progress. Strictly keep to the schedule until the 14 success. Make sure you record religiously your daily activities.
STEP 2: Set your goal. Clearly define what you want to achieve and set your mind to it. Your undivided focus is vital. Do not be too ambitious at the start. Be down-to-earth about it. As they say in Latin: Festina Lente (Hasten Slowly). For example, if your aim is to convert 100 visitors within a year, pro-rate that number, so in 2 weeks, you only target for 5 conversions.
STEP 3: Define your ultimate desire and analyze why you are passionate in attaining it. Write in your journal how achieving this goal can affect your life. Visualize in details the benefits you hope to achieve. This process will help you stay in focus and keep your eyes on the prize. Focus is vital in attaining your goal.
STEP 4: Build in accountability in your plan of action. Ask for assistance in reaching your goal. List down the person/s that will lend their support and keep you accountable by checking your daily progress. Set up regular communication systems with them such as by email, text messages, and/or phone calls for their advice, comments, and encouragement. These people are important to keep you on your toes.
STEP 5: Plan your daily activities. Spread them out among the 14 days. Work on the most difficult tasks first Strive to spend 60% of your daily working hours on actions that move you nearer to your goal. Set mini goals for each day. Review and modify your list daily. Make adjustments if necessary to improve on the desired results for each day.
Once you have made your plans based on the 5 steps above, it is now time to work your plan. Schedule your daily working hours to a maximum of 6 hours each day. However, allow some flexibility in your schedule. At the end of each day, review your progress for the day. Make room for adjustments as necessary depending on the result of each day. Be sure to map out and refine your activities for the next day as part of this process.
Consult regularly the person/s you asked to assist you to monitor your progress. With their help, make sure you stick strictly to your daily plan of action until the end of the 14th day.
Your typical daily Schedule of Activities should be similar this (flexible as needed):
At the end of your 14th day, congratulate yourself. See how you fared. Have you met you goal or are there some work left undone? If so, finish them within the next few days until completed. A few additional days over the 14 days should not discourage you.
Review your journal and identify the places where you can do better next time. If for some reasons you failed to achieve your goal the within the time frame you planned, do not slacken from the momentum you have built up in the course of 2 weeks.
Let this 2 weeks be the start, not the end in forming the habit of succeeding in your projects with 2-week’s time. Take advantage of the momentum and experience you have gained to build a better and stronger business focused on your goals and dreams.
