If you are an entrepreneur and have found this website you may be looking for clues or ideas on how to better your skills and learn something new. One of the big discoveries I have made on my path is that you do not only create a company, but how you want to live. When you want to work and what you want to focus on in life is an essential part of the journey and life as an entrepreneur. Starting and running a company is challenging espessially in the beginning of your career and you may have to start many companies and project before you find your flow of working effectively. I bought a book about 2 years ago called “Reinventing the Body, Resurrecting the Soul” by Deepak Chopra. When i picked it up and starting reading it then I quickly put it down because the content did not feel relevant and I did not connect with it. However as I´m halfway through the book now I find it fascinating and I´m gaining a true understanding of how and what I can change in my life to worked in a more balanced manner. I would like to share a small sample of the book with you about what causes stress in the human body as I have felt all these over my entreprenurial career and they have been, well stressfull.

Elements that cause stress are;
Unpredictability – Random events distrupt your body¨s rythms.
Disorder, confusion – A breakdown of external order leads to inner disorder.
Accidents – Mistakes in your life lead to mistakes in your body.
Trauma, sickness – When wounded, your body loses track of time.
Violence – When attacked, your body´s timing is shattered.
Chaos – When all sense of order is destroyed, your body cannot manage time at all.

Many of these are highly relevant to a startup company especially the elements of; Unpredictability, Disorder, Confusion, Accidents and Chaos. If you are experiencing a lot of Trauma, Sickness and Violence maybe you are in the wrong type of business, but these definately can be a consequence of the other symptoms of stress. Awareness of these elements can be essential for you to succeed. Once you are aware that these elements can cause real problems and shorten your life drastically do what you can to put your life in line with what your body and mind can master. What use is lots of money if you die at 40 from a heart attack? Steve Jobs has talked about dying young all his life, but he has probably also put a lot of stress on his body throughout his life and will now likely die young(ish). I had lunch with one of my mentors yesterday and he told me about an excellent entrepreneur that is about 50 years old that also is very ill because of a heart problem, likely caused by many years starting companies.

My message to you therefore is, think long term and focus on a balanced long life, instead of the quick flip and kill.

“It´s not about a leg. It´s about the overall race. That´s why I´m a marathon runner. I´m not a sprinter.”

Deepak Chopra (Hindi: दीपक चोपड़ा; born October 22, 1946) is a Indian medical doctor, public speaker, and writer on subjects such as spirituality, Ayurveda and mind-body medicine.[1][2] Chopra began his career as an endocrinologist and later shifted his focus to alternative medicine.[3] Chopra now runs his own medical center, with a focus on mind-body connections. He is also a lecturer at the Update in Internal Medicine event, sponsored by Harvard Medical School’s Department of Continuing Education and the Department of Medicine.
Chopra was a top assistant to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi before launching his own career[4] in the late 1980s by publishing self-help books on New Age spirituality and alternative medicine.[5]
A friend of Michael Jackson for 20 years, Chopra came to widespread public attention in July 2009 when he criticized the “cult of drug-pushing doctors, with their co-dependent relationships with addicted celebrities,” saying he hoped Jackson’s death, attributed to an overdose of a prescription drug, would be a call to action.[6]
